Welcome to APG India
APG India, based in New Delhi,
was set up as a joint venture between AFA Australia, a division of American Flight Airways Virtual Airlines and the London Hub
of Pacific Airways with a view to establishing new markets and a foothold
in Asia.
The New Delhi hub, Indira Gandhi Intl Airport (VIDP), operates
Cat III (i.e. Boeing 737 and Airbus A320) flights within India and to its neighbouring countries and Cat
I (Beech 1900) flights to multiple destinations in the Himalayas. The Cat I flights
operate into smaller airports, many with difficult approaches, and only
the best pilots are allowed to operate on these routes. These flights
are essentially for tourists and mountaineers intent on climbing the highest mountain range in the world. Both AFA and PAY aircraft are
operated on the APG India route system.
APG India also operates selected flights out of Mumbai (Bombay), VABB. Mumbai is the commercial capital of India and a major tourist destination. It is also a major gateway for many international airlines and travelers alike.
It is recommended that pilots
flying the APG India routes should be members of either the AFA Australia
or PAY London hubs. This is primarily for operational reasons, as these
two hubs will jointly manage the APG India 'mini' hub and they will handle all
requests for charters and special flights. Direct flights from both London
and Sydney to destinations within the India route system already exist.
