Detroit, Mi (17 April 2010) - Important Notice to all American Flight Airways and Pacific Airways pilots & passengers.
Updated: 1100Z, 17 APL 2010: Due to Icelandic Volcano activity,
all American Flight Airways & Pacific Airways flight operations into and out of the areas listed are CXL until 2300Z, 17 APL 2010.
Airspace closed:
UK
Republic of Ireland
Norway
Sweden
Denmark
Finland
Belgium
Netherlands
Germany
Czech Republic
Hungary
Latvia
Lithuania
Slovakia
Switzerland
Luxembourg
Partial closures:
France (all northern airports are closed including all Paris airports (CDG, ORY), Lille, Strasbourg, Rennes, Beauvais).
Southern Europe / Russia
Flights are operating from/to Southern Europe/Russia to Australia/India / North and South America are operating, however significant delays may be expected as aircraft need to fly around the volcanic cloud.
Notice to Passengers
Passengers are advised to contact their airline or travel agency before traveling to the airport to confirm the status of their flight. The American Pacific Group offers all passengers booked on affected flights between 16 and 18 April to be rebooked free of charge on a later flight (preferably after 21 April 2010) or to get a full refund.
Once airspace opens and flight schedules return to standard, expect significant delays on both inbound and outbound flights. APG values your safety and the APG Maintenance department will verify engine and fuselage status on arrival.
